New Beginning Tabernacle is an independent baptist church located in the heart of Central Virginia. The church was founded on March 20, 1994 by it's current Pastor, Gary L. Moore. The church name is derived from 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." The first service was held at the Forum in Timbrook Square Shopping Center in Lynchburg with 57 in attendance. Shortly thereafter services were moved to a store front property within the same shopping center. The Lord continued to bless and made way for the purchase of 19 acres in Madison Heights where our new facility was built in 1998. We are surrounded by the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Amherst County.
In many ways the heart of our church is the pulse of the families and individuals who call NBT home. Through Christ, our ongoing goal is to love God, love others and to find a place to serve. Whether you live in the area, or are just visiting, from the moment you walk through the door, you will be met with a warm Christian environment. There are numerous ways for you to get involved and strengthen your faith at NBT. If you don't have a local "spiritual family" to worship with, come home to NBT. We'd love to know you better, help where we might,
and enjoy together the fullness of life that comes from knowing God through His son Jesus Christ.
